Dan Hooker makes no effort to disparage Jon Jones

Dan Hooker apparently didn’t like Jon Jones’ few afternoon remarks too much.

After the former UFC light heavyweight champion called Hooker today for a few recent blows on Twitter, “The Hangman” delivered his own assault on social media, and he didn’t fire any shots fist.

I was triggered by your spurious attempt to draw attention to Chael’s situation. He was arrested for defending his wife, you were arrested for assaulting yours. & 🍊

Life Tip: If you don’t beat up your wife, family events will be more enjoyable. Merry Christmas bitch.

Hooker kicked off the back-and-forth messages earlier this week, taking a hit at “Bones” after reports emerged of Chael Sonnen’s involvement in an altercation in Las Vegas that prompted police to intervene.

Sonnen was reportedly given five drum quotes as a result of the incident, and Hooker shot Jones when details emerged that “The American Gangster” was in fact defending his wife in the fray.

Imagine beating 5 people and none of them is your wife. (JJones RN 🤯)

Jones was arrested in Las Vegas in September after alleged domestic drumming from his fiancee, Jessie Moses, though the charges were later dropped.

Jones was clearly not happy with the benchmark and took to Twitter to accuse Hooker of taking a low blow in part because he is jealous of the success of the longtime light heavyweight champion of the UFC.

@danthehangman Bro, your career just isn’t going well, that’s my answer. MDR

@danthehangman, every chance you’ve had to make a name for yourself and get closer to your boy Izzy you’ve dropped the ball. You can’t achieve greatness, so you jump in line and attack someone who has. Seems about right

With Hooker (21-11 MMA, 11-7 UFC) possibly on the way to featherweight and Jones (26-1 MMA, 20-1 UFC) has pledged to move to heavyweight, an octagonal encounter between the two to adjust the voltage will not be in the cards. But social media could very well prove to be a fertile battleground for a rivalry that is clearly growing.
