Henry Cejudo thinks the biggest threat to reigning middleweight king Israel Adesanya lies in the welterweight division
Israel Adesanya topped the middleweight division, racking up multiple wins now against the best in the division. He defeated Robert Whittaker at UFC 271 for the second time by unanimous decision.
While there doesn’t appear to be any real threat to Adesanya’s reign, former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo has identified Khamzat Chimaev as a threat that could dethrone the middleweight champion.
Khamzat earlier responded to Adesanya’s performance at UFC 271 arguing that it’s an easy money fight for him.
Reacting to his tweet about “The Triple C and the Schmo Show,” Cejudo said “I love the Chimaev man. I don’t want him to fight my boy ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ [Kamaru Usman, UFC Welterweight Champion] but i wish he would come out and really show people how wrestling is supposed to be done, you know what i mean. I think Chimaev is special I think he’s proven himself and you know he’s the biggest threat right now he’s the hottest prospect he’s the hottest candidate to become the next UFC champion,” Cejudo concluded.

Khamzat Chimaev, who is known for his dominating display inside the octagon and his high self-esteem personality, made a bold prediction for a whimsical matchup against middleweight king Israel Adesanya after “The Last Stylebender defeated Robert Whittaker in the rematch at UFC 271.
