- The Bahrain team presents a star-studded line-up with IMMAF #1 P4P Ramazan Gitinov & Sabrina Laurentina de Sousa.
The local MMA Super Cup team, Team Bahrain, has been revealed as the world number one ranking team prepares to meet Tajikistan in the opening quarter-finals. The MMA Super Cup takes place next week in Manama on March 9, 10 and 12, 2022, broadcast on immaf.tv.
Hosted by BRAVE CF as part of BRAVE International Combat Week, the MMA Super Cup features some of the strongest national amateur MMA teams in the world, according to the IMMAF World Amateur MMA Rankings alongside wildcard teams. Teams will compete to determine the biggest nation(s) in MMA and have the opportunity to win cash prizes of US$100,000, US$75,000 and US$50,000 for first through third place respectively. The prize money is intended to fund the development of the next generation of MMA athletes in winning nations through their IMMAF-affiliated national federations.
Bahrain presents a star formation with its heavily medal-winning team. This includes the No. 1 Pound for Pound IMMAF Male and Female Athletes, Ramazan Gitinov and Sabrina Laurentina de Sousa.
At welterweight, Ramazan Gitinov has 5 IMMAF gold medals at the 2019 and 2021 World Championships, the 2019 and 2021 European Championships and the 2020 Oceania Open. He also collected 2 silver medals at the 2017 African Open and the 2019 Asian Open.
IMMAF Rising Star Sabrina Laurentina de Sousa has two world gold medals to his credit, of the 2019 and 2021 World Championships, and also champion at the 2021 European Championships.
Women’s Flyweight Aieza Ramos Bertoloso ranks third among women in the pound-for-pound rankings, having won gold medals at the 2021 Worlds and Europeans.
At Leger, Kurban Idrisov is the 2021 World Gold Medalist, while alternate Gimbat Magomedov has a gold medal at the 2021 World Cup and a bronze medal at the 2021 World Championships.
Light heavyweight Gadzhi Gadzhiev champion at Euros 2021 and second at Worlds 2021.
Meanwhile, the bantamweights Abdullah Mubarak has the following medals to his credit: bronze Africa 2019,
Oceania 2020 silver and Prague 2021 World Cup bronze.
Finally, average weight Sultan Omarov made the IMMAF podium three times with two world bronze medals and a European silver medal (2019, 2021, 2021).

We are now back on top with first place of the senior rankings at the World Championships Our superstar Sabrina da Sousa may not be fighting in her normal weight class, but we are sure she will impress the world alongside the rest of the Bahrain team at the BRAVE International Combat Week.
The MMA Super Cup is held under IMMAF Amateur MMA rules and World Anti-Doping Agency rules. All competitors will be medically pre-cleared by Safe MMA.
The MMA Super Cup runs from March 8-12, during BRAVE International Combat Week, with BRAVE CF 57 on Friday the 11th and an opening ceremony on March 8.
