Kayla Harrison vs. Taylor Guardado to headline PFL World Championship, full lineup revealed
Kayla Harrison’s hunt for another PFL Championship will bring the 2021 league season to a close.
The official lineup was released Monday for the PFL World Championship event on October 27, which takes place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In the main event, Harrison (11-0) —No. 10th in the pound for pound ranking of MMA Fighting – Taylor Guardado (3-1) bout for the lightweight crown and a prize of $ 1,000,000.
Five more league championships will also be decided at the show, with a welterweight final between former winners Magomed Magomedkerimov (29-5) and Ray Cooper III (23-7-1) serving as the main co-event. Magomedkerimov defeated Cooper in the 2018 League Final to win the inaugural welterweight title. The following season, Cooper won the 2019 title, although he didn’t have a chance to catch up with his rival as an injury forced Magomedkerimov to withdraw from the playoffs.
All finals winners will receive a prize of $ 1,000,000 in addition to a league title.
Also on the main card, boxing superstar Claressa Shields is making her second MMA appearance after beating Brittney Elkin on her PFL debut last June. Shields fights Abigail Montes (2-0), who previously played for iKon Fighting Federation and Combate.
