Kazakhstan Athletes Named To Face Balkan Team At MMA Super Cup

The Kazakhstan team is currently ranked 3rd in the World Amateur MMA Ranking and has a prominent place in the IMMAF medal charts.

rising star Ayan Toursyn is the most pronounced athlete from Kazakhstan in the team. Competing at flyweight for the MMA Super Cup, Tursyn has previously won the following IMMAF medals at atomweight and strawweight: 2017 Asian Silver, 2017 World Bronze, 2019 Asian Gold, 2019 World Silver and 2021 European Silver. Bantam-weight Antonina Kotlyarevskaya is the other woman on the team and boasts of securing second place in the lightweight division at the 2019 Asian Championships.

Other IMMAF medalists representing Kazakhstan are bantamweights, Janibek Tynyshty, who is the 2019 World Junior Bronze Medalist and 2021 European Gold Medalist; lightweight Anatoli Zolotykh who won junior gold at the 2019 European Championships and was champion at the 2019 Asian Championships; 2019 Asian Silver Medalist, Lightweight Neimat Assadov; and heavyweight Rasul Khatayev, who won silver at the 2019 World Championships.

Head Coach of Kazakhstan Mixed Martial Arts Federation (KAZMMA), Bayan Zhangalov, noted:

“Our team is fully ready to play in the MMA Super Cup. We have worked tirelessly from competition to competition. Our main rival is the Bahrain team. However, the Super Cup will also see the participation of other strong teams such as Tajikistan and unified teams from the Balkans and Arab countries. In the first match, we will face the Balkan team. We expect a surprise from the Europeans, but we are ready for it.

The MMA Super Cup takes place under IMMAF Amateur MMA Rules and World Anti-Doping Agency rules. All competitors will be medically pre-cleared by Safe MMA.

The MMA Super Cup runs from March 8-12, during BRAVE International Combat Week, with BRAVE CF 57 on Friday the 11th and an opening ceremony on March 8.
