After the loss, a few fighters publicly showed their support for Till and offered to help him with his wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu. Charles Oliveira, and more recently Khamzat Chimaev, being the last name added to this list. “Borz” tweeted saying: “@ darrentill2 Come to Sweden, I’ll help you with the fight.”

Till and Chimaev have been back and forth several times on social media trolling each other. The two also took part in an Instagram live together a few months ago. Chimaev built a reputation for being an excellent wrestler during his time in the UFC. “Borz” can certainly give some hints on “The Gorilla” ahead of his next fight.

Darren Till is one of the best forwards not only in his weight class but also in the UFC. He has proven it time and time again. However, he is sorely lacking in other aspects of his mixed martial arts game. This is something Derek Brunson exposed during their fight at UFC Vegas 36.

Brunson made 3 of 6 takedown attempts and managed to rack up the damage while Till was down. Additionally, towards the end of lap three Brunson was able to get a choke in the back after Till gave up his back.

‘The Gorilla’ has significant improvements to make if he wants to compete for the UFC title again. He will have to work intensively on his wrestling and takedown defense, in particular, to keep the fight on his feet where he has the best chance of winning.

After the loss, a good chunk of the fan base asked Till to switch training camps and train in a gym that allowed for better training partners with different looks. Considering Till’s relationship with his longtime trainer, a change of sides for “The Gorilla” seems unlikely.
