Michael Bisping calls Israel Adesanya “ the new Anderson Silva ”

UFC Hall of Fame member Michael Bisping spoke to Helen Yee and commented on current middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. Bisping who was the division champion before his loss to Georges St-Pierre and eventual retirement has an affinity for the 185-pound category. Israel Adesanya captured everyone’s attention with his flashy fighting style and Bisping is no exception.

Despite losing in his last fight for the light heavyweight bracelet, Israel Adesanya retained his middleweight championship. “The Last Stylebender” is undefeated in the weight class and has beaten Paulo Costa, Yoel Romero and Robert Whittaker. He’s gearing up for another UFC 263 title defense against Marvin Vettori which takes place in Arizona.

Israel Adesanya: a life of striking prowess

Michael Bisping commented on Israel Adesanya’s evolution as a championship fighter and the improvement he has made in his game. Bisping attributed Adesanya’s confidence that his strike was a cut above of his adversaries. Additionally, Bisping was so impressed with Adesanya’s strike that he called him New Age Anderson Silva.

“Adesanya has improved, I think he really filled these shoes as a champion if you will. He has the booty. We know he’s so confident, but he’s confident for a reason. He’s confident because his shot is some of the best we’ve ever seen in the UFC.

“He’s the new Anderson Silva, he doesn’t like it, but still like Anderson Silva impressed people back then, Adesanya has the ability to do it. He’s a great fighter, he wiped out the division and he’s already beaten Marvin once, so it would be disrespectful to say he can’t do it again.

Bisping’s assessment of Adesanya’s skills is significant, especially since he went to war with Anderson Silva for five rounds. Not to mention, Adesanya once fought “ The Spider ” in what was an exciting and gripping showcase. The Nigerian-born champion will be keen to showcase his skills and dismantle Vettori at UFC 263.

The two have faced each other in the past and the champion won’t look to win by split decision the second time around.
