Miesha Tate calls Aspen Ladd a ‘cheater’ on UFC Vegas 38 weigh-in quirks
Ladd, the UFC’s No. 3 ranked female bantamweight, failed to put on any weight for her scheduled UFC Vegas 38 fight against the No. 11 ranked Macy chiasson. Originally, she stepped onto the scale fully clothed. The screen was pulled out so she could weigh in without anything. She stepped on the scale then stepped back. In the end, she broke the 136-pound limit for untitled bantamweight fights by one pound.
Ladd has already lost weight once in his career. She struggled to gain weight a few times. The fight was later called off due to health concerns and Ladd released a statement explaining his side of what went wrong.
Tate responded to Ladd’s statement and had no sympathy for the 26-year-old. Tate accused Ladd of trying to cheat and come up with excuses.
Tate resumed fighting in July after his last competition in November 2016, defeating Marion Reneau by TKO. Tate was immediately reinserted into the UFC women’s bantamweight standings at No.8. Tate was scheduled to face No.7 in the standings. Ketlen Vieira on October 16, but the fight was pushed back to November 20 after Tate tested positive for COVID-19.
