Team Lakay’s strawweight contender Lito Adiwang will finally face American mixed martial arts icon Jarred Brooks in the third installment of ONE: NEXTGEN next month.

Both Team Lakay and ONE Championship have confirmed the development in their respective announcements.

Adiwang and Brooks were supposed to face off in April when he debuted on US TV promotion through his ONE series on TNT.

Team mainstay Lakay, however, has tested positive for COVID-19 alongside ONE newcomer and former BRAVE Combat Federation champion Stephen Loman and strawweight king Joshua Pacio.

Adiwang, 27, returned from consecutive wins over Japanese foe Namiki Kawahara in January and Chinese veteran Hexigetu last month to improve with a 13-3 record.

Brooks, for his part, will showcase his talent in ONE Championship for the first time since competing in various promotions such as UFC, Bellator and Rizin.

The 28-year-old American competitor is currently 16-2.

ONE Championship has yet to release the full maps for NEXTGEN II on November 12 and NEXTGEN III on November 26, but the first installment will take place on October 29 and will feature a light kickboxing title match against the champion. Ukrainian Roman Kryklia. and Murat Aygun of the Netherlands and Turkey and the semi-finals round of the women’s atomic weight grand prix.
